Prof. Twaha Kigongo Kaawaase

Prof. Kaawaase is the Chairman of the Board of Uganda Re. He is a Partner at Sejjaaka, Kaawaase &Co. Certified Public Accountants and a professor of accounting and auditing at Makerere University Business School. He has served on a number of Boards in both the private and public sector including the Board of Civil Aviation Authority Uganda; National Planning Authority and the Capital Markets Authority. He is the Chairman of the Uganda Insurance Training Fund Board of Trustees; Board of Directors of Marsh Uganda Ltd and an Independent Trustee of the DFCU Bank Staff Provident Fund. He is a member of the International Federation of Accountants (Small &medium audit practices) Advisory Group. As service to the community, he is the 1st Deputy Premier (Katikkiro) and Minister in charge of Administration, ICT and Innovations of the Kingdom of Buganda. Prof. Kaawaase holds a Ph.D (Audit quality) of the University of Dar es SalaamTanzania and a Masters in Social Science in Accounting & Development Finance (Birmingham University). He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), UK and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) and the Institute of Corporate Governance Uganda (ICGU)
